The SEA Summit 2017’s conference schedule has been confirmed. Take a look the list below!
The SEA Summit is a B2B conference for Southeast Asia’s gaming industry. Its goal is to facilitate knowledge sharing, networking and collaboration opportunities among companies based in Southeast Asia. This event is also a perfect place for those looking for ways to enter the market area.
The SEA Summit is a collaboration of Eliphant, the organizer of GameStart Asia, and the International Mobile Game Awards (IMGA). The inaugural SEA Summit will take place in Singapore on October 12 and 13, followed by the 2nd edition of IMGA SEA awards ceremony.
One week before the conference, the SEA Summit confirmed its schedule. This event will have two main topics: The Business of Games and Opportunities of eSports. Here’s the breakdown of each day’s schedule.
Day 1 – Thursday, October 12
10.15 – 11.30: CEO Discussion
In this panel, some of the game studio’s CEO will share their insight about the game industry’s trend nowadays. The arranged panelists are Ian Gregory (Witching Hour Studios, Singapore), Arief Widhiyasa (Agate Studio, Indonesia), Gabby Dizon (Altitude Games, Philippines), Yann Marchal (Sanuk Games, Thailand) and Alexander Fernandez (Streamline Studios, Netherlands).
11.30 – 12.30: Google Marketing Panel, Building a Profitable Gaming App
In this session, you will learn from Google about how to market your game in the right way and make it profitable.
13.30 – 14.30: What Publishers Look Out for in a game or IP
Do you want to collaborate with a publisher to market your game? Then you should know their standard. In this panel, Langer Lee (mixi-XFLAG), Richard Chua (General Manager, IGG Singapore), Rainel Tan (General Manager, Sales & Marketing Bandai Namco) will share their insights.
15.45 – 16.45: Procedural Content, Pipeline Automation, and You Or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Being Lazy
In this technical session, Teck Lee Tan (Senior Technical Artist, Bandai Namco) will share his insight.
16.45 – 17.45: Panel – Maximising Event and Conventions
In this panel, Langer Lee (mixi-XFLAG), Ian Gregory (Witching Hour Studios), Brian Kwek (Founder, Ysbryd Games) will share their tips and tricks on how to maximize event and conventions for your game.
14.30 – 15.30: How to Pitch Your Game to the Media
Media can be one of the free marketing tools for game developers to grab gamers’ attention. So in this panel, Ooi Gin Lee, Tein Hee (Executive Editor, tech360.tv), Sean Lim (Founder, Wanuxi), and Febrianto Nur Anwari (Senior Editor, Duniaku Network) will share the tips and tricks on how to pitch your game to the media.
15.45 – 16.45: Panel – Game Marketing Strategy
There are some game marketing strategies that we can implement to market our game. But what’s the best strategy? In this panel, Wang Yaoxian (Key Account Project Manager, Zombits), Brian Kwek (Founder, Ysbryd Games), Rainel Tan (General Manager, Sales & Marketing, SEA, Bandai Namco) will share their insights.
Day 2 – Friday, 13th of October
10.00 – 11.00: Keynote
Yoko Taro, the genius man behind the scene of NieR: Automata will take on the stage and give some speech and insight. Learn how to make a blockbuster game from him!
11.15 – 12.30: Q&A with Yosuke Saito, Square Enix
Yosuke Saito, the producer of NieR: Automata also come to the conference and give us Q&A chance. Do you have questions? Then you should join this conference!
13.30 – 14.00: What’s New From Google Daydream
In this session, Joe McGinn (Game Publishing Producer, Google) will share the newest technology, Google Daydream and also how to utilize it.
14.00 – 14.30: How Do You Use Machine Learning for Marketing
After Google Daydream, Google will continue it with this session.
14.30 – 15.30: Perfect Your Pitch
In this session, Henric Suuronen (Games Entrepreneur & Investor) will share his tips and tricks on how to perfect your pitch to investors, publisher, media, etc.
15.45 – 16.15: Localization Strategy – Wooing a Global Audience with Your Indie Game
In this session, Kah Hui Teo (Global Localisation Manager, Keywords Studios) will share his insight on how to localize your game in other country and maximize it to grab the local gamers’ attention.
16.15: HADO is eSports for Location Based Entertainment!
To know the latest eSport trend, Yukiharu Tomita (COO, meleap inc) will share about HADO.
11.00 – 13.00: Streamers Workshop by Fundeavour
Do you want to be a streamer? In this session, Michelle “Lylia” Tan (Co-founder & CEO, Fundeavour.com) and Jackson “Raijinshi” Lee (Fundeavour.com) will teach you how.
14.00 – 15.00: Why Brands Sponsor Gaming and eSports
